By Li Zhang
Success=20 in mass production doesn=E2=80=99t happen when solely left to the = supplier, but it=E2=80=99s=20 buyer and supplier working arm-in-arm. Here are 5 ways to assure success = in mass=20 production.
Communication
During=20 mass production, it=E2=80=99s very important to stay in touch with your = supplier. Not=20 only staying in touch but being available to answer questions and give=20 confirmations.
Can=20 you imagine that some Chinese suppliers make rogue decisions because = they feel=20 like their client is not willing to be contacted and help to answer = questions?=20 By the way, this is a cultural feeling, whether right or = wrong=E2=80=A6
Let=20 your supplier know that you are always available, especially during mass = production, to help answer questions.
Clearly=20 define expectations
This=20 one goes hand-in-hand with communication. If you have not clearly = defined your=20 expectations with=20 your Chinese supplier, chances are, they will take whatever path in = mass=20 production.
=E2=80=9CBut = I confirmed a sample=E2=80=9D, you may say.
Yes,=20 but have you:
=E2=80=A2=20 Educated your supplier, during the preproduction phases, to the purpose = of the=20 product? What market, what age group, what function?
=E2=80=A2=20 Clarified what parts of the sample are a must?
=E2=80=A2=20 Informed your supplier the top quality aspects of the product that = cannot=20 waiver?
Control=20 during mass production
Once=20 the supplier starts bulk production, this is not the time the buyer goes = into=20 neutral and expects everything by chance of fate to =E2=80=9Cgo = right=E2=80=9D.
=E2=80=A2=20 Request purposeful photos during certain aspects of the = production.
=E2=80=A2=20 Ask your supplier pointed questions to makes sure they stay on their=20 toes.
=E2=80=A2=20 Have the supplier send you random production samples to = confirm.
Motivate=20 your supplier to assure they=E2=80=99re invested
How=E2=80=99s=20 your relationship with your vendor? Do they look at you as a 1-off = customer who,=20 regardless of the order=E2=80=99s success, will never come back? Does = the vendor see=20 repeat business.
Assuring a motivated=20 supplier is synonymous with assuring the order=E2=80=99s = success.
Book=20 a 3rd party factory visit to check mass production
There=20 are not many situations that should impede you from booking a 3rd party=20 inspection. These range from US$300 to US$500.00.
By=20 these 3rd party inspections, you have clarity on the final mass = production=20 quality.
Don=E2=80=99t=20 leave it up to chance, but along with your supplier, spearhead = initiatives and=20 control the order.
